during May 2016 Rome Meeting
Sister Sally M. Hodgdon, CSJ, superior general of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery, recently was re-elected vice president of the International Union of Superiors General during its 2016 May meeting in Rome, Italy.
The International Union of Superiors General is comprised of major superiors of congregations of women religious who represent more than 700,000 Sisters worldwide. The gathering highlights the global, national, local and Church challenges that surround social, economic and spiritual values, all as women religious reach out to meet new, evolving needs. At this meeting, the IUSG had a private audience with Pope Francis.
Congratulations to Sister Sally on this challenging and vital role in leadership representing the hopes and dreams, the ministry challenges and, more importantly, how God's call to more that 700,000 women religious changes the face of our world and its people.
